It's always been in the back of his mind.

Calem Vastar, nephew of the Lord King of the

Divine City of Ynesh, has a secret.

Something dark and twisted, a piece of himself that

he wishes to deny.

A tiny voice, whispering intrusive horrors and

urges that could make the stomach turn. A thing

that is him but not at the same time.

But he endures it. For the good of Ynesh and its

citizens Calem tames his impulses and imagination.

He does so in the name of honor, for his bloodline,

and for his cousin, Princess Ulem.

But for how long can he keep himself in check?

When secrets are revealed, when

corruption is uprooted, can he hold himself together?

When he is called upon by the King to go beyond the

measure of his duty, to provide an heir to the Ynesh

throne, how much stress will it take for the reins to

slip?

Calem wants to be in control. He wants to deserve

what his life has given. He wants to silence the voice

that haunts him and be the man that his city needs.

But how far can one detach

themselves from their own thoughts?
